About Me
Hello, my name is Melanie Nuñez. I am a senior at the University of Houston pursuing a B.A. in Strategic Communications with a concentration in Advertising and a minor in Education. This past year, I developed skills in networking, graphic design, digital marketing, and campaign planning. I love being creative, listening to Taylor Swift, traveling, and attending Astros baseball games with my family.

About my work
As an advertising major, I have led and created multiple mock campaigns, media kits and media plans to understand how consumers think about brands and how to use that information to find target audiences and increase brand awareness. In addition to working with clients one-on-one during the summer of 2023, I was a part of Valenti Integrated, a student-run PR agency at the University of Houston and an internship with Channelview Independent School District.
I have had a creative mindset for as long as I can remember. This is where my interest in creating was inspired and what has led me to produce meaningful projects and events as a student, intern, and secretary. I aspire to apply my creativity in the future as a social media marketer when working alongside clients and my employers.

Realtor Event
During the summer of ‘23, I had the opportunity to intern for the Channelview ISD communications department. During my internship, they hosted a “Remarkable Realtor Reunion” breakfast to encourage local realtors to attend and learn all about Channelview and what the school district has to offer. Furthermore, this reunion allowed realtors to meet with potential clients and school officials. It was considered a success, with approximately 15 realtors and 20 new hires for the district in attendance. My roles during the event were to capture media and live tweet to inform the community of the collaboration. In addition, I created PowerPoint graphics to welcome the realtors and the district superintendent and thank the sponsors. The Superintendent, Dr. Tory C. Hill, spoke to the realtors in hopes of informing them about the schools, programs, and many other outstanding qualities Channelview ISD has to offer to its students and community. I believe this was a clever marketing strategy. It was very innovative for them to collaborate with local realtors to encourage families to purchase a home in Channelview.
